Vendors' Rules & Regulations

Rishai's Marketplace

These rules apply to all vendors who list and sell products on Rishai's Marketplace. By creating a vendor account, you agree to follow these guidelines to protect customers, providers, and the integrity of the platform.

1. Vendor Eligibility & Verification

Vendors must be at least 18 years old.

Vendors must provide accurate and verifiable information during registration, including:

  • Full legal name or business name
  • Valid contact details
  • Parish or business location

Rishai's may request additional documentation such as:

  • Identification or proof of address
  • Business registration
  • Tax ID or TRN

Rishai's reserves the right to suspend or close accounts that provide false, incomplete, or misleading information.

2. Product Listings & Content

Vendors must provide truthful and complete product information, including:

  • Product name
  • Description
  • Variations (size, color, length, style, etc.)
  • Price and available quantity
  • Clear photos of the actual product being sold

Prohibited Listings:

  • Illegal or stolen items
  • Items that violate Jamaican law or international regulations
  • Misleading or misrepresented products
  • Listings that infringe trademarks, copyrights, or other intellectual property rights

Disclosure Rule (Transparency Model):

Rishai's supports open trade but requires full disclosure of authenticity. Each vendor must accurately select one of the following Item Types when listing:

  • ✓ Authentic / Original – Genuine items produced by or under the rights of the brand owner.
  • Replica / Inspired by Brand – Items resembling or inspired by branded designs but not original brand products.
  • Unbranded / Local Made – Locally designed or independently produced items without brand affiliation.

⚠️ Listings must be honest and visible to customers. Hidden or inaccurate disclosures may lead to payout holds or account suspension.

3. Pricing, Fees & Payouts

Vendors may set their own product prices.

Customers may pay vendors using the payment methods enabled by that vendor.

Vendors may configure customer payment methods such as bank transfer, Lynk, NCB Quisk, cash on delivery, in-person payment, Stripe where eligible, or custom methods.

The payment method and any instructions selected at checkout are saved with the order record.

Local or direct payments are handled directly between the customer and vendor.

Stripe or other platform-controlled payment options may be available where applicable.

Rishai's does not automatically hold, receive, or disburse funds for local or direct payments.

Platform subscription fees and Shopping Room or Live Room fees are handled separately under the subscription and pricing system.

Payment Responsibility:

  • Vendors are responsible for maintaining accurate payment details, instructions, and availability for the payment methods they enable.
  • Orders paid through local or direct methods must be handled and confirmed directly by the vendor and customer.
  • Platform-controlled payment processing may have separate terms where it is offered.

⚠️ Payments made outside platform-controlled payment processing may not be covered by platform buyer protection and are handled at the parties' own risk.

4. Medical & Regulated Services

Vendors who offer Medical Aesthetic or other regulated beauty services must upload a valid professional license or certification issued by a government agency, accredited school, or recognized professional institution.

Unverified vendors may not list or perform regulated services.

Failure to provide valid credentials may result in suspension or removal.

5. Orders, Shipping & Delivery

Once a vendor accepts an order, they agree to ship or deliver within the promised timeframe.

Vendors must clearly state:

  • Delivery methods offered (courier, pickup, etc.)
  • Delivery fee and areas covered

Vendors must provide proof of delivery when requested.

Repeated late or unfulfilled orders can lead to account warnings or temporary suspension.

6. Communication & Deals with Customers

Vendors may communicate freely with customers — by chat, phone, or agreed channels — to discuss products, delivery, or special deals.

Vendors are allowed to:

  • Negotiate directly
  • Offer discounts
  • Accept payments outside the app if both parties agree

Rishai's will never restrict vendors from making their own business deals.

However:

  • Rishai's is not responsible for transactions or disputes that occur outside the platform.
  • Vendors who engage in fraudulent or abusive behavior may face permanent suspension.

7. Returns, Exchanges & Customer Service

Vendors must comply with Rishai's Return & Exchange Policy.

Vendors may have their own return policy, provided it is not weaker than Rishai's standard.

Vendors agree to:

  • Respond to customers within a reasonable timeframe
  • Handle issues and returns fairly
  • Cooperate with Rishai's Support if disputes escalate

Failure to resolve valid customer complaints may result in refund deductions from future payouts or temporary account suspension.

8. Customer Feedback Period

After delivery, customers have a short feedback window to confirm that:

  • The item matches the description, and
  • If applicable, authenticity appears as described.

If a buyer reports an issue during this period, the parties may be asked to provide information so the issue can be reviewed.

Vendors with consistent positive confirmations may qualify for Trusted Vendor status and stronger customer trust.

9. Prohibited Behavior

The following activities are strictly prohibited:

  • Listing items not owned or in possession
  • Using fake or duplicate accounts
  • Manipulating reviews or ratings
  • Harassing or threatening customers or staff
  • Engaging in fraudulent or illegal transactions
  • Sharing customer data beyond what is necessary for order completion

Any violation may result in immediate account suspension or termination.

10. Account Suspension & Termination

Rishai's reserves the right to:

  • Place temporary holds
  • Remove listings
  • Restrict marketplace features where necessary
  • Suspend or permanently terminate accounts

Reasons include but are not limited to:

  • Excessive complaints
  • Late or unfulfilled orders
  • Fraudulent activity
  • Violation of platform rules

When possible, vendors will receive notice and the opportunity to correct the issue before action is taken.

11. Acceptance of Terms

By using Rishai's Marketplace as a vendor, you confirm that:

  • You have read and agree to these rules.
  • You understand they may be updated as the platform grows.
  • Continuing to use the platform means you accept all future revisions.

13. Foreign Vendors & International Product Listings

To ensure trust and transparency, all vendors who are located outside Jamaica or ship products from another country must comply with the following rules.

A. Product Location Disclosure

  • Every product must clearly show where it is located at the time of listing.
  • Vendors must choose one of two options in the product form:
    • Located in Jamaica – Product is already on the island and ready for local delivery.
    • Located Overseas – Product is stored or shipped from outside Jamaica.
  • This disclosure will appear publicly on the product page so customers can see before purchase.

B. Delivery Time & Customs Notice

For overseas listings, vendors must clearly show:

  • Estimated delivery time (including shipping and customs clearance).
  • A note that import duties, taxes, or customs fees may apply, and that the buyer is responsible for those costs.

Products without clear delivery or customs details may be removed or hidden by Rishai's until corrected.

C. Payment Notice for Overseas Orders

Payment Terms:

For overseas orders, vendors must clearly state which payment methods they accept and what delivery terms apply before the customer pays.

  • Local or direct payments are handled directly between the vendor and customer.
  • Platform-controlled payment processing, where available, may have separate terms and review procedures.

Vendors are responsible for keeping shipping timelines, customs notices, and payment instructions accurate.

D. Product Availability in Jamaica

  • Foreign vendors may not list items as "Ready for Same-Day" or "Available in Jamaica" unless those items are physically located within the island.
  • Vendors who have local inventory or fulfillment partners in Jamaica must provide the partner's location for verification.

E. Returns & Exchanges for Overseas Items

Overseas vendors must include a clear return policy that explains:

  • Who pays for international return shipping,
  • Where the return address is located, and
  • Whether refunds will include or exclude shipping costs.

If no return instructions are provided, the sale will be treated as final after customer confirmation of delivery.

F. Authenticity and Declaration

  • All authenticity and disclosure rules (Authentic / Replica / Local Made) apply equally to foreign vendors.
  • Vendors must not claim "authentic" if the product is a replica or imitation shipped from overseas.

G. Penalties for Misrepresentation

⚠️ Consequences:

Any foreign vendor who falsely lists a product as "in Jamaica," or misrepresents delivery timelines, may face:

  • Listing restrictions,
  • Account suspension, or
  • Permanent removal from the marketplace.

H. Customs Compliance

  • Rishai's Marketplace will not act as the importer of record.
  • Vendors are fully responsible for compliance with Jamaican customs and shipping laws.
  • Shipments that violate Jamaican import rules may be seized by authorities, and Rishai's will not be held liable for losses.

I. Recommended Practice for Foreign Vendors

To improve sales and trust, foreign vendors are encouraged to:

  • Partner with a local fulfillment hub or mini-warehouse in Jamaica (through Rishai's or independently).
  • Pre-stock fast-moving items on the island to support faster delivery and stronger customer trust.
  • Offer accurate tracking numbers and consistent communication with buyers.

Summary Note for Display

At the bottom of all overseas listings, display this line automatically:

"This product ships from outside Jamaica. Import duties and delivery delays may apply."

Why This Is Important

  • Prevents deception (e.g., vendors pretending items are local when they're not).
  • Protects your brand reputation by managing delivery expectations.
  • Supports clearer trust and payment expectations for buyers and sellers.
  • Encourages international vendors to move stock into your future mini-hub system, aligning directly with your Zippyify logistics model.

📦 Section 13 applies only to foreign vendors or vendors shipping products from outside Jamaica.
